A day at Inside Sales

You are looking forward to the working day because each new day presents new and exciting challenges. You drink a cup of coffee and together with your partner - the account manager - you discuss the day ahead in a dynamic way. Together you discuss current customer cases and decide who does what. Your responsibilities are partly operational. In the meantime orders have come in and clients have called and sent e-mails. But, your structured approach helps you to stay on top of your daily schedule. Your e-mail inbox will have given you a substantial workload by now, which you process by processing orders and quotes that you send to the clients with a friendly personal message. After lunch with your colleagues you handle the outstanding service calls and come up with solutions that please the clients. Any request for reduced prices is discussed with the account manager and after exchanging knowledge about this client you come to a decision on a suitable price agreement that pleases the client. The second half of your afternoon is dedicated to client conversations. Following your data analysis it appeared that a client is no longer ordering a certain product from us. Time for you to change that. The second and third conversations are with prospective clients met at the trade fair. The result of these dynamic conversations is increased turnover from the first client, and two scheduled meetings for the account manager. Before you go home you already know what's on the agenda tomorrow and you prepare for your meeting with the account manager.
That's it. You're done for the day and can enjoy a relaxing evening.

                Why Inside Sales?

The purpose of Inside Sales is to generate turnover by planning, creating, and taking opportunities, developing the market share, and to focus on client loyalty and managing client relations. All activities are performed in conjunction with the account manager with whom you form a two-person team. This account manager is responsible for the client and together with the account manager you are responsible for the turnover. Inside Sales has operational responsibility. Your job includes creating quotes, cross-selling and upselling, finding and calling new potential clients, setting up meetings while also processing the daily orders and handling client requests.
