Dear {aanhef} {achternaam},

As you are no doubt aware, the European economy has been rather fragile for several years. As a result, the exchange rates of the euro in relation to foreign currencies has continued to drop. The euro remained in freefall throughout the past year in particular, absolutely plummeting from December 2014.
(see http://www.xe.com/currencycharts/?from=EUR&to=USD&view=1Y)
This decline in value has made European exports cheaper and imports significantly more expensive. Unfortunately, this has also affected our business. After all, a low euro / dollar exchange rate naturally entails a high dollar / euro rate.

Purchasing increasingly expensive
We wish to explain the situation briefly to you. Our products are manufactured by our suppliers in China, whom we pay in dollars. Given that the dollar exchange rate has become increasingly high, our purchase prices have risen significantly. Thanks to Promic’s healthy position, we have been able to absorb these increases for over six months, instead of charging them directly on to you. Due to the continuing free fall of the euro, however, we are no longer able to do so. Promic therefore has no choice but to implement an increase of 6.9% on the prices of all systems as of 1 June 2015. This is our only means of ensuring that we can continue to provide high quality products, maintain sufficient stock and offer you adequate service in the future.

Good news
However, we also have some good news for you:

- Product development
Promic continues to further develop its products, as things can always be made smarter and more swiftly and efficiently. You may therefore have noticed one or two product innovations during the past few months, and many others shall follow. This will not affect the prices of the products in question, only the level of quality will improve further. We intend to keep you informed of the progress we make in this field by means of newsletters, as we believe that the future lies in the provision of affordable quality.

- Zipper Wall Graphic
A provisional survey of our new Zipper Wall has revealed that the printing and confection of ready-to-use graphics is a complex process. As this has made the Zipper Wall unsaleable to many clients, Promic has decided to offer you the service of supplying this product with prints. We shall not carry out the printing ourselves, but will leave this to a specialised independent printing firm. Given that printing and confection for Pop-Up Fabric and Counter Fabric is also a complex process, we shall therefore offer the print service for these products, too. You may already be familiar with this service on our Beach Flags.

Around 20 May, you will receive our new pricelists, containing details of the complete range, prices and terms of delivery. We thank you kindly for your understanding, and shall continue to do our utmost to forge and prolong a pleasant and long-term business relationship with you.

Kind regards,
